Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to : (a) to investigate the level of anxiety and self-confidence in cancer patients, and (b) explore the effect of being ill.

type of illness, and gender on the levd of anxiety and self-confidence in cancer patients.

The sample consisted of (293) in dhiduals ; (225) of the them are healthy while (68) are cancer patients.

The researcher used the anxiety measure which was prepared by Fahad Al-Dulaim and the self-confidence measure, prepared by Mustafa Swalf and Mohd Farraj.

Findings reveal that the cancer patients suffer from an increase in the level of anxiety and decrease in the level of self-confidence.

Moreover, patients, who were Ul for more than one year, had an increase in the level of anxiety, while the patients less than one year showed lesser level of self-confidence.

Thus, there are no statistically significant differences exist in the level of anxiety and self confidence in cancer patients due to the variable of the type of illness.

Moreover, there are no statistically significant differences in the level of anxiety and self confidence in male and female patients.
