Abstract EN

This study aimed to identify the possibility of employing the art of paper folding in the innovation and creativity of models for the design of industrial products (applied to lighting units), next to the definition of the art of folding paper (origami) as a culture, and methodology, and as a science and art, and the definition of its importance and its role, next to identify potential Certain Educational actor in the educational process in the field of industrial design.

Such as the general community to study the field of industrial design and product design, it was hired to design models students bachelor's industrial design program at the College of Fine and Applied Art at the University of Sudan for Science and Technology (Khartoum / Sudan).

Tools of the study consisted of observation and personal interview and give students the exercises and applications, and then selected models of the students analyze designs.

The researcher in this study methodology applied field study, which could include practical process studies, and this approach is the most appropriate curriculum for the study of such cases.

The data and information derived from models and designs submitted by students for the purpose of analysis tests access to the results of the study.

Among the most important findings of the study the possibility of employing the art of paper folding in the innovation and creativity of models for the design of industrial products (applied to lighting units), where innovation and creativity of a group of designs characterized the aesthetic value and high operation, simplicity and balance next to the movement of different tunes.

The study recommended the adoption of the importance of the study of the art of paper folding and its applications in a scientific way, systematic and as a platform to teach and study design, industrial design and the arts, and as a platform for the development of skills and abilities of students.
