Abstract EN

In his book « Miftah el-Uloom » or „Key of Sciences‟ including many studies on the Arabic language and its science, Sekkaki (D 626 H) studied through which several phenomena of the Arabic language used to express the two different levels of the meaning (i.e.

the proper meaning and the figuratively meaning).

So to reveal valuable linguistic and pragmatic dimensions which are included in his analysis to these issues.

The most important one is his method of analyzing the two rules of Predicate and Imperative in his mentioned book.

Whether by using them according to the proper meaning to avail direct acts of speech, or their deviation from the appropriate apparent meaning .

Thus, they avail indirect acts of speech according to the context of the use.

Therefore, this research is aimed on studying Sekkaki‟s different ways of imperative mood in terms of pragmatic linguistics to recognize the relevance of Sekkaki‟s proposals in comparison with the modern pragmatic lesson by indicating the relationship that can be occurred between both of them.
