Abstract EN

This research deals with the political, the administrative and economic situation in the Takitount annex, in the north of Setif, Algeria in 1875.

The study is based on the Arab bureau reports we can find at the Center for Overseas Archives in Aix-en- province in the South of France.

This center was founded to lodge most of the archive of the French previous colonies.

This archive consists of monthly reports prepared by the President of the Arab Bureau at the Takitount Annex and sent regularly to Constantine province commander.

The reports were handwritten, and clear.

Sometimes it is difficult to read some reports , especially for those who are not acquainted with the different writing styles of the French language.
