Abstract EN

This study aims to consider the image of women in the poetry of Abdurahman Shukri who was one of the pioneers in the history of modern Arab literature.

He was one of the three pillars of Al-Diwan School, which introduced a new concept of poetry in the first century .Shukri was regarded as one of the poets who refused the poetry of occasions, and he called for imagination and heightened passion in poetry.

He also said that poetry should be the interpretation of self and feeling.

Moreover, he was one of the poets who wrote about woman; the woman appears in different patterns in his poetry .Shukri also wrote about life, human beings, love and pain, these topics were the major inspirations for him when writing poetry, and these topics led clearly to the emergence of passion.
