Abstract EN

This paper is concerned with investigating the use of warning and threatening by Iraqi EFL learners.

It concentrates on the pragmatic strategies and linguistic forms by which these two acts are realized.

It proves that these learners are inclined to use certain strategies in preference to others.

It is composed of three sections, the first of which is concerned with the distinction between these two acts.

The second one deals with the pragmatic strategies and linguistic forms of these acts.

The third section is concerned with the empirical study of these acts.
