Printing in the Sudan : The beginning, Development and Obstacle This study aims at investigating the beginning, development and obstacles of printing in the Sudan.

The study shows that printing has played a leading role in the cultural, educational and developmental transformations as well as in raising awareness among the general public.

In fact, printing has made science and arts accessible to the educational sector.

It has also played a significant role in eradicating illiteracy in society.

In addition, it has made the educational process possible by providing printed books and materials.

More importantly, it has contributed towards the development of scientific research, i.e.

the backbone of the intellectual development, and to preserving the national, scientific and cultural heritage.

this, the study has adopted the historical and descriptive methods as well as relying on textbooks, reports and scientific periodicals and magazines.
