English Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of foreign trade on economic growth in Jordan from (1991- 2013) .

In order to achieve this aim , annual data of the variables of the study was used .

The variables of the study were the Real Gross Domestic Product (RGDP) , Economic Growth (G) , Exports (E) , Imports (IM) , Labor (L) and Capital (K) .

In order to estimate the long-term relationship among these variables an econometric model was developed using methodology which applied testing time series and test the unit root test Phillips -Peron the co-integration and (VECM) through the logarithm of real GDP .

The results showed that the variables of foreign Trade have significant impact in the long term, and a high level of significance on the GDP growth of the Jordan , where the elasticity of exports amounted to a rate of (0.051).

The results estimate that the impact of a negative growth rate of imports growth in real GDP, where the flexibility of imports amounted to a rate (0.0236), and this statistically significant parameter.
