Abstract EN

to build talking electronic dictionary for libraries and information science using multimedia program.

We will underline the benefits and deficits of electronic dictionaries and their building methods.

In addition, we will present concepts and definitions of multimedia and the benefits of using it in libraries and information science, including but not limited to guiding tour, learning and training, self learning and digital library.

For achieving the main goal herein, the research has two courses.

The first one is the applied aspect.

The applied aspect focuses on how to build talking electronic dictionary for libraries and information.

The second course explains how to measure the proficiency of electronic dictionary.

The research arrived at several conclusions and recommendations that may contribute in evaluating current electronic dictionaries based on multimedia.
