Abstract EN

The study aimed at investigating the predictive validity for both general secondary test and the cumulative average of the university competence test at Jordanian university.

The study sample consisted of (3119 ) students, all of them were taking the (mid test) in three majors ( education, engineering, and management).

the results showed that the cumulative average was the most explanation for students 'performance in the competence test with statistical significance level (a=0.05) than general secondary average in the three majors, as well as the results showed that there are differences in the predictive ability of the general secondary average( GSA) and cumulative average( CA) of the university competence test in its new image( mid-level) according to gender.

The differences of the correlation between the GSA and the university competence test were for female, as well as the differences of the correlation between the university cumulative average and competence test were for female
