Abstract EN

The inhibition effect of natural honey was tested against 157 bacterial isolate returned to the Pseudomonads group were isolated from 611 sampls involved clinical specimens ,obtained from different clinical sources and environmental swabs collected from three main hospitals in Al-Najaf governorate , using agar well diffusion method Honey revealed high ability in inhibiting the bacterial growth.

The concentration 40% of honey revealed the highest inhibition effect against growth of all tested isolates with an inhibition diameter more than 25 mm.

, and inhibition percentage 100% of all bacterial isolates .

However , growth of Pseudomonas fluorescens, P.stutzeri , P.putida , Burkholderia mallei,and, B.

pseudomallei and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia was inhibited at percentages 25,50 ,66.7,75, and 83%, respectively , and the diameter of inhibition zone ranged between 10.5-13mm.
