Abstract EN

In the first place, this study deals with the guarantees provided by the laws and regulations in Jordan and Saudi Arabia during the course of the interrogation process with civil servants accused of disciplinary violation.

The aim of such interrogation process is to establish the disciplinary liability upon the accused civil servant, which comprises of imposition of penalties provided for by regulations in the Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The paper will determine the competent authorities in conducting the interrogation in each country and the disciplinary regime to which they belong.

This study urges the authorities entrusted with the interrogation of civil servants to harmonize the legal guarantees and safeguards available, in order to better protect the rights of the accused civil servants and to go beyond the guarantees laid down by laws.

Such authorities must take into account the guarantees embodied in the general principles of law.
