Abstract EN

The greatest of foundations and pillars of the Religion, the most noble of them in status, and the most beneficial and rewarding of them is Tawheed: to single Allah –the Most High- with all worship.

The proofs from the Qur'aan and the Sunnah show that Tawheed, that which Allah has made obligatory upon His servants, is divided in three categories: Singling Allah alone in His Lordship, Worship, and His Names and Attributes.

The Tawheed of the servant is not sound until s/he believes in all of these categories nor is it acceptable except by staying away from all that which opposes them.

This research clarifies the categories of Tawheed according to The People of Sunnah and according to those whom oppose them in two chapters: The first chapter is on the categories of Tawheed and it consists of two sub-chapters: The first of them clarifies the methodology of the People of the Sunnah in categorizing Tawheed: Even though they may differ whether it is divided into two or three categories the two opinions lead to the same conclusion, as it was mentioned before that they are interconnected.

Hence, it is obligatory to believe in all of them and it is not sufficient to believe in one and not the other, nor is it sufficient to single Allah in some while associating partners with Him in others.

The second sub-chapter mentions the categories of Tawheed according to the Asharis and Sufis and how their categorization opposes the guidance of the Qur'aan, the Sunnah, the noble Companions, and the pious predecessors.

The second chapter consists of the proofs supporting the categorization of Tawheed according to the People of the Sunnah and a criticism of the doubts of those who deny their categorization.

This chapter also consists of two sub-chapters.

The first of them mentions the proofs of the People of the Sunnah for their categorization from: The Qur'aan- such as Soorah Faatihah, the verse of the Footstool, and the two last chapters of the Qur'aan-, and the Sunnah- such as the supplication in the nigh prayer-, and from the general understanding of these texts.

The second sub-chapter consists of a criticism of the doubts of those who deny the categorization of Tawheed, whether they denied the existence of the categorization in the Qur'aan and the Sunnah and claimed that it is innovated, or they denied it being narrated in the speech of our pious predecessors, or they claimed that it is merely a terminological categorization.

The conclusion of the research mentions its main results.
