Abstract EN

The theory of intellect is one of the main and important philosophical matters, and we will try, in this research, to analyze Al-Farabi's Intellect theory, so we divided it to five main parts: - Part I: studies the historical frame of the problem of intellect, and focus on the relationship between potential intellect and actual intellect according Aristotle and his later followers.

- Part II: focuses on several denotations of "intellect" according to Alfarabi.

- Part III: studies the human intellect and its considered levels in three intellects as follows: potential intellect, actual intellect and acquired intellect.

- Part IV: analyzes the concept of actual intellect, its nature, place and functions in Al-farabi's philosophy.

And studies the mechanism of communication between human intellect and actual intellect.

- Part V: focuses on the roll of actual intellect in the communication theory, and the communicating tools.

Finally, we tried to discover the epistemic and existential denotations of actual intellect, and its importance in Al-farabi's philosophical system.
