Abstract EN

In the last few years, the phenomenon of domestic violence has attracted important attention and concern by the Qatari authority.

Therefore, this study focuses on social factors influencing domestic violence in Qatari society.

It examines various indicators, causes and manifestations of the phenomenon.

From the perspective of social work profession, it discusses the literature on the subject and discusses those relating to violence and its indicators, theories of Ecological pressure and deprivation, Darwinist theory, Frustration and Aggression.

The study points to the importance of integrating domestic violence within Qatari Criminal Law, and urges governmental institutions and civil society organization and Qatar University to establish mechanisms for research and policy to end it.
