Al-Waqifa movement is the largest Shia sect that broke away from Imam Al-Idha (peace be upon him) after his father's death Imam Musa Al-Kadhum (peace be upon him), and went on taking the role of appendence against him.

This movement became more and more dangerous through time..

the leaders and influential people of that movement tried hard to ignore Imam Al-Ridha (peace be upon him) the right of being Imam, and wanted to keep him off.

As a result, Imam Al-Ridha (peace be upon him), and the people of his era began undergoing a very hard tribulation.

We can say that some of the reasons of that situation were materialistic and others political.

This research tries to cast light on the role of Imam Al-Ridha (peace be upon him) in facing and fighting not only that sect but also other extreme ones; he also warned people of the danger of those sects.

And the research also deals with the most important talks of the Imam Al-Ridha about Al-Waqifa movement, and the ways he followed in fighting them, besides revealing the main impulses behind the extreme movements which tried to lessen Imam Al-Ridha high standing.
