Abstract AR

The degree of supervisors’ participation in the development of social studies curriculum in the Sultanate of Oman.This study aimed to reveal the supervisors’ degree of participation in developing social studies curriculum.

In addition, the study attempts to examine the effect of a set of variables including gender and academic qualification.

To achieve objectives of study the researchers used the descriptive methodology where the researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (37) items, which is divided into three components :curriculum design; curriculum implementation; and curriculum evaluation.

After checking the validity and reliability of the instrument, it was applied to the study sample consisting of (61) social studies supervisors (males and females) from all educational districts in Sultanate of Oman.

The result of the study showed that degree of supervisors participation in social studies curriculum development reached (2.65) which mean moderate.

In addition, the data revealed no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05=α) in the degree of supervisors participation in social studies curriculum development can be attributed to variables of gender and qualification.
