Abstract EN

This paper seeks to throw light on the status of Saudi Poetry with regard to recalling and reviving the prominent symbols of the Islamic Arab heritage.

The author has tried to understand this phenomenon through the study of the image of Almutanabbi in the circle of Saudi poets.

In this process both the classical or conservative and modem critical and philosophical dialectic has been applied.

Also the study is based on a survey of all significant literary and critical works that have emerged in the recent years on the dialectic of revisiting the heritage through different windows in the modem Arabic poetry in many countries of the Arab world.

The recalling of Almutanabbi in the modemn saudi poetry takes place in a triangular shape: Almutanabbi as recounted, Almutanabbi as a subject of weeping and Almutanabbi as a cause of weeping.

The study has sought to look at the image of Almutanabbi in the Saudi poetry in three contexts, namely the historical context, the intellectual context and the poetic context, which intersect the three sides of that triangle.
