Globalisation is a complex phenomenon with multiple effects.
On the one hand it is considered as an irresistible and beneficial force which brings economic prosperity to all people of the planet.
On the other hand, we see in it the source of all contemporary evils.
Nevertheless, it is widely recoganised in the liberalisation of international trade, the expansion of foreign direct investment and the emergence of massive cross-border financial flows the main features of Globalisation.
These changes have led to an increase of competition in global markets.
It is generally agreed that this phenomenon occurred due to two combined factors, namely policies designed to reduce national barriers to international economic transactions, and the impact of new technologies mainly in information and communications.
These changes provided the conditions that led to the start up of globalization.
The impact of these new technologies gives distinctiveness to the current process of globalization compared to similar occasions in the past.
Barriers have been considerably reduced.
The cost of information, people, goods and capitals around the world has dropped dramatically, and instant and cheap global communication costs cheaper and flows faster.
All these factors have increased the feasibility of economic transactions in the world.
Markets can now reach global stature and embrace a growing range of goods and services.
Another distinctive feature of the current process of globalization is the fact lies in the fact that one element is conspicuously missing.
Unlike previous episodes which were characterised by massive cross-border movement of people, the current process largely excludes this phenomenon.
In this article, we describe the outstanding features of the development of globalization and the emerging institutional framework that governs and we evaluate its impact on the country and people.

La mondialisation est un phénomène complexe aux multiples retombées.
D’un coté elle est considérée comme une force irrésistible et bienfaisante qui apportera la prospérité économique à tous les habitants de la planète.
De l’autre coté, on voit en elle la source de tous les maux contemporains.
Néanmoins, on s’accorde largement à reconnaître dans la libéralisation du commerce international, l’expansion des investissements directs étrangers et l’émergence de mouvements financiers transfrontières massifs les principales caractéristiques de la mondialisation.
Ces évolutions ont entraîné une hausse de la concurrence sur les marchés mondiaux.
De même, on admet généralement que le phénomène s’est produit sous l’effet combiné de deux facteurs, à savoir les politiques visant à réduire les barrières nationales aux transactions économiques internationales et l’impact des nouvelles technologies, notamment dans la sphère de l’information et des communications.
Ces développements ont créé les conditions qui ont permis à la mondialisation de démarrer.
L’impact des nouvelles technologies confère un caractère distinctif au processus actuel de mondialisation, comparé à des épisodes similaires du passé.
Les barrières ont été considérablement réduites.
Le coût de la circulation des informations, des personnes, des biens et des capitaux tout autour de la planète a baissé de manière spectaculaire, et la communication mondiale, bon marché et instantanée, coûte de moins en moins cher et va de plus en plus vite.
Tous ces facteurs ont augmenté la faisabilité des transactions économiques dans le monde entier.
Les marchés peuvent désormais atteindre une envergure mondiale et englober une gamme croissante de biens et de services.
Un autre caractère distinctif de l’actuel processus de mondialisation, tient au fait qu’un élément en est visiblement absent.
Contrairement aux épisodes précédents de la mondialisation, qui s’étaient caractérisés par des mouvements transfrontières massifs de personnes, le processus actuel exclut en grande partie ce phénomène Dans cet article, nous décrirons les traits saillants de l’évolution de la mondialisation et le cadre institutionnel émergent qui la régit et nous évaluerons son impact sur les pays et les personnes.
