Abstract EN

Through the present work, we attempted to develop an econometric model of the impact of new reforms enacted by the State during the period 1980-2011 on unemployment in Algeria.

First, we started with a theoretical overview on these reforms and their impact on the labor market as well as all measures taken by governments to counter this scourge.

Next, we evaluated the impact of these measures on unemployment by an econometric model.

We this study shows that the reforms adopted have no impact on employment; this is perhaps due to the presence of this variable with other variables having greatest impact on the phenomenon in the model.

Finally, after the judgment of the model, it was concluded that the unemployment rate is a function of GDP, population, wages and investment rates.
