أثر برنامج تعليمي قائم على المدخل الوظيفي في تحسين مهارات القراءة الناقدة لدى طلاب الصف التاسع الأساسي في الأردن

Abstract EN

The current study aimed at investigating the effect of a functionallybased Instructional program on developing tenth grade students' critical reading skills.

To achieve the aim of the study, the researchers designed a functionally-based instructional program, and a test consisted of 12 multiple choice items to measure the critical levels of reading.

The sample of the study consisted of 56 students from Beit Yafa secondary school for boys in Irbid first directorate of education for the academic years 2010- 2011.

They were chosen purposefully: 28 of them represented the experimental group and the other 28 represented the control groupe.

The result of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the test of critical reading due to the way of teaching and in favor of the experimental group (Instructional program).
