Despite the law n ° 02-09 of 8 May 2002 on the protection and promotion of people with intellectual disabilities, which aims to ensure the inclusion and integration into the social and professional life of this segment of society by creating specific job positions , much remains to be done in this area.
Especially since the successful insertion of a mentally handicapped person requires a combination of several equally important factors.
Moreover, sustainable maintenance of a mentally handicapped to a workstation requires not only monitoring professional custom but also social support sustained.
This is in our opinion the best way to avoid failure of the insertion and give hope to the mentally handicapped and their families.
This article proposes, to highlight and analyze the obstacles to the integration of the mentally disabled in Algeria .

Malgré la loi n° 02-09 du 8 mai 2002 relative à la protection et à la promotion des personnes handicapées mentales qui vise à assurer l’insertion et l’intégration sur le plan social et professionnel de cette frange de la société par la création des postes d’emploi spécifiques, beaucoup de choses restent à faire dans ce domaine.
D’autant plus que l’insertion réussie d’une personne handicapée mentale nécessite la réunion de plusieurs facteurs aussi importants les uns que les autres .Par ailleurs, le maintien durable d’un handicapé mental à un poste de travail exige non seulement un suivi professionnel personnalisé mais également un accompagnement social soutenu.
Ceci constitue à notre avis, le meilleur moyen pour éviter l’échec de cette insertion et ainsi donner de l’espoir aux handicapés mentaux et à leurs familles.
Le présent article se propose donc, de mettre en relief et d’analyser les obstacles à l’insertion des handicapés mentaux en Algérie.
