Abstract EN

The present study aims to identify the nature of the relationship that exists between metacognition at his different dimensions and the problem solving.

The study sample consisted of (150) students of both sexes from the high school level.

Two scales were used, the first one, which was developed by the researchers was the measurement of metacognition, while the second, designed by Nazih Hamdi (1997), consisted on the measuring of problem solving.

The obtained results were as follows: 1-There is a correlation between Planning skill, and problem-solving ability.

2-There is a correlation between Controlling skill, and problem-solving ability.

3-There is a correlation between Evaluating skill, and problem-solving ability.

4-There is a correlation between the metacogntion skills, and problem-solving ability.

5-There is no differences between male and female in metacogntion skills for high school students.
