Abstract EN

This paper is an investigation of woman’s image in the poetry of Pre-Islam tribe poets, specifically the wretches (Sa’aleek).

As opposed to the poetic tendency in that era which regarded woman as only a body describing with details her organs and charms, Sa’aleek’s poetry dealt with her as a living creature that contributes with man in all life events.

They considered woman as the lover, the caring wife and the supporting partner during miserable as well as blissful moments of life.
