Abstract EN

This paper looks at media phenomenon from outside, employing tools of epistemological analysis and moral accountability.

Epistemological analysis shows that the contemporary media is not just images or information to communicate; rather it is a worldview and a cognitive pattern of the existence.

Wide spreading consumerism, domination of artificiality, attraction to material life, and the change of knowledge into tools of soft invasion of minds and souls are just clear indicators of this.

Moral accountability shows how contemporary media is separated from the guiding and faithful affirming innate disposition (fitrah).

It also exposes the extent of moral impoverishment sent to the public.

Addressing this problem would require setting up a new form of morality that would help achieving the freedom from media imperialism, and upholding human moral values rather than the material existence which grabbed life in all its aspects.
