Abstract EN

This study sheds light on gender and numeral nouns in two important languages Arabic: a semantic language belonging to Afro- Asian language family and the shiluk which belongs to Shari - Nile a subfamily oflvilo- Saharan family.

Shiluk is the third significant language after Dinka and Nuer spoken in Southern Sudan.

The siudy is intended to conduct comparative study on gender and numeral nouns between Arabic and Shiluk languages in order to find out the similarities and differences tween the two language, which belong to différent families.

For reaching its intended goals, the study adopted descriptive analytical land comparative methods.
