Abstract EN

Outline of study: This study aims to examine the phenomenon of phone-semantics, which means implications that are taken from the quality of speech phones.

Phone-semantics are one of the important phenomena that has attracted the attention of linguists, from al Khalil ibn Ahmad al Farahidi(d.

175 AH)until present.

This study tries to analyse ideas and opinions of the linguists about phone-semantics and takes look at the most important sourcesin this matter;including theoretical writings(8 books)and comparative writings (8 books).

Research topics: 1) Phone-semantics in Arabic language / 2) Phone-semantics in books, theoretical approach/ 3) Phone-semantics books, comparative approach Research Results: The most important achievements of this research: First, it seems al Khalil ibn Ahmad al Farahidi(d.175 AH) is the pioneer in phone-semantics, then this student Sibawayh (d.

180 AH) continued his work, they both has established principles and foundations of this phenomenon.

However, they simply mentioned it and did not fully analyse it.

Khalil realized the first express of phone-semantics, and Sibawayh pointed out the implications ofverbs and meter.

Secondly, phone-semantics reached to its peakby Ibn Jenni 's book "Alkhasais"(d 392 AH), he left the creation and installation phase behind and reached the stage of consolidation theory.

He fuscous his attempts on relationship between phone and meaning and has the greatest impact on expanding expresses of phone-semantics through induction of words in Arabic,so his book becomes a useful source for his successor'scompilations.

Thirdly: phone-semantics phenomenon in the book"Characteristics of Arabic alphabetand their meanings"by Hassan Abbas, reached its peak of development progress In this book,with a statistical method, he addresses an intrinsic relationship between the phones of Arabic and the human senses.

Fourthly: books written in the subject of phone-semantics did not just remained at a theoretical level, some contemporary scholars compares phone-semantics expresses to literary texts (Qur'an-verse), they do this based on previouslinguistics' theories.
