the current study aims to detect the level of the critical thinking traits and life orientation among graduate students, as well as examined the relationship between critical thinking traits and life orientation, also aims to know the contribution of the critical thinking traits in predicting life orientation.

The present study was conducted on a sample of ( 242 ) graduate students in the Colleges of Arts and Education ,from Zagazig and Benha university , their age ranged between 23 - 40 years with an average ( 31.74 )years , and a standard deviation ( 4.869 ).

A measure of criticai thirikjno traits /prepared by the researcher V and the measure of life orientation ( Prepared by: Ansari,2001 ) .

The results showed a high level of critical thinking traits and life orientation among graduate students ,The results also found a significant positive correlation between the dimensions of criticai thinking traits (r ranging from 0.552 to 0.783 ) > 0.01 level except fairmindedness its correlation not significant.

And results found that the critical thinking traits ( intellectual perseverance, confidence inreason, inteiiectual courage intellectual humility) are significant predictors for life orientat^ among graduate students by a contribution of 71.20 % of t l^% ^ total variance .

also found significant differences in the criticl® thinking traits due to variable sex .

While the differences wei^ not statistically significant in fairmindedness .results also foun^^ a significant differences in life orientation among the stud^ sample due to gender , and the differences were in favor o f ^ males .
