In light of the limited natural resources on the earth and ,|the increased human activity and thus increasing environmental iTypollution & climate change resulting, the designer responsibility ^increases toward the environment and to learn how to coexist f?and benefit from it, in a way that does not drain its resources.

Current trends are to unveil or explore the possibilities of the fanctional possibilities of biological world and how to apply them in the world o f design, where scientists of biology and ecology are studying the physiology of organisms, those studies |- which are not translated, explored and applied in the field of V architecture and design on a large scale unti now.

The phenomenon o f bioluminescence is the emission o f Light from living organisms through oxidization or burning process.

This phenomenon was evident in m.any natural phenomena.

The bioluminescence represents a fertile ground for research and studies for design work, where its importance is linked to its ability to create expressive night scene, and its capacity to reduce energy costs, wastes and pollutants and thus creating positive social interaction in interior space, leading at the same time to achieve endless economic benefits at the level of both the individual and the community
