Abstract EN

This research aims at addressing the growth in the number of the invasion cases on the agricultural lands and their areas in Assiut through construction being done by the rural people, and the economic, social and administrative reasons for that invasion as well as getting acquainted with rural people's suggestions to avoid that phenomenon.

The research was conducted on a sample of 90 individuals from the rural people who have overrun the agricultural lands by construction, and from three villages in Assuit.

The data was collected by questionnaires and personal interviews then statistically extracted and analyzed by a table of counting and percentages leading to the following results: -More than 50% of the sample hold intermediate or high degree and possess area of less than 20 carats from agricultural lands.

About 75-6% have overrun agricultural lands by construction after January 25, 2011 - -Some economic reasons for that invasion on agricultural lands include: low prices of agricultural land relative to the old population mass of the ill age.

high rental value of housing either in the city or the village, Lowe turn of agricultural land and high costs of agricultural production.

Some social reasons for this invasion on agricultural lands Include: increasing the size of the family, the desire for independence from the family and staying, living next and looking after agricultural lands.

As for administrative reasons: ease of connecting water and electricity to irregular and illegal buildings, the spread of favoritism and bribery in localities and slow resolving the is sues of overrunning agricultural lands by construction.
