تأثير مستخلصات مختلفة لبذور الحبة الحلوة vulgare Foeniculum و بذور الكزبرة Coriandrum sativum في حياتية عثة التين Ephestia cautella ( Lepidoptera : Pyralidae)‎

The results of biological assessment of funnel and coriander ethanolic and aqueous extracts activity showed that the concentration 30 mg/ml reduced extracts activity significantly after 3 and 6 days from it preparation and date fruit application.

Egg mortality ratio was decreased while, adults’ emergence, insect productivity and egg hatching percentages was increased compared with these percentages recorded after adding insect larva to treated date fruits.

The results of storage experiment showed that infection percentage was decreased in date fruits treated with concentration 30 mg/ml of funnel and coriander for both ethanolic and aqueous extracts and was 9.6 and 20% when treated with ethanolic extract of funnel and coriander plants respectively.

Meanwhile, the infection percentage in control was 53.3%.

The highest infection percentage was 33.3% when fruits treated with aqueous extract of coriander while it was 21.6% when fruits treated with funnel aqueous extract.

This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of 30 mg/ml concentration of ethanolic and aqueous extracts against fig moth insect Ephestia cautella, the results of laboratory experiment was confirmed by storage experiment to reveal the effect of these extract on infection percentage.

The results cleared that ethanolic extract of funnel plant was more repellent to fig moth insects and repellent percentage of it was 74.13%, meanwhile, the highest repellent percentage of aqueous extract of coriander plant was 55.33%.
