Abstract EN

This research attempts to show the influence of German idealist philosophy or the New-Hegelianism on Green, reveal Green's motives for having interested in common good, and to present the essence of this concept.

Four sub-issues were discussed: The crisis of English philosophy in the nineteenth century, Green's motives for being interested in common good, foundations of common good and the essence of common good.

To achieve this objective, the analytical and comparative method were adopted.

The study showed that the essence of common good is spiritual and its area extends to include humanity as a whole.

So, it differs from common interest and utility or the principle of achieving the greatest happiness for the greatest number of people
