Abstract EN

This study aimed to reveal how much Extroversion, Neuroticism, Psychoticism, and Lie are spread among working and non-working women of the research group from both districts of Syrian society.

It also aimed to reveal the different levels of non-working women compared to those whose work is related to the element of age, marital status, place of living (city-countryside) and the kind of work they are doing.

The sample of study included (568) women of which (280) are working women and the other (288) are non-working from the two districts of Damascus and Homs.

The research tool of study was the short picture of Eysenk personality standard measure, which contains 48 clauses distributed on four sub-measures.

Thereupon the statistical treatment of the results was handled by SPSS, (The Statistical Package for Social Sciences).

Main results of the study included the followings: The diffusion average of these features upward is: Lie, Extroversion, Neuroticism, Psychoticism.

-Working women are less hypocrite and psychotic but more extrovert and neurotic than non-working women.

-The average of Psychotic spread is almost the same among the different ages of the sample, Whereas Neuroticism is extremely high among the ages (20-25).

-There are no statistically significant differences between working and non-working women in terms of Psychoticism, Extroversion and Lie; while differences appear in the level of Neuroticism.

-Married and single women were similar in the levels of Psychoticism, Extroversion and Lie.

On the other hand, they were different, in terms of Neuroticism.

This means that single women are more neurotic than married women.

-There are no statistically signifcant differences between women living in cities and those who live in the countryside concerning Psychoticism, Extroversion and Lie; however, differences occure in the level of Neuroticism.

- Statistically signifcant Differences has not been recorded among working women of the study, which could be related to the kind of job, in terms of Psychoticism, Extroversion and Neuroticism; yet these differences were found in the field of Lie..
