This research relies on records of the Islamic courts, which give information about the economic and social changes, and living conditions as well as the components of the village in the study period.

To draw the image of the countryside of Damascus in the first Ottoman era, the study followed a method of classifying the information about the purchase of land in the countryside and who rules this procedure and agriculture.

The other phase of the approach has been by tracking the trading of these groups controlling the sources of production, and how their properties have been acquired in the countryside.

In the third phase, the study has measured the type and quantity of the buying and selling of properties by rural people to make it easier to hold the comparison between them and the buying and selling of the military and state employees.

The conclusion has been extracted from the relationships concluded in the mentioned phases to see the development and growing of the study groups through this listing.
