This study aimed at investigat^g the effect of the ؛earning cycle on tenth grade students’ achievement in genetics, compared with the traditional method.■fhe sample ofthe study consisted of 158 students in four sections in two governmental schools in Mafraq city; (A girl's school and a boy’s school).

The sections were distributed randomly to form the control ما0آو (A male section and female section) and the experimental group (A male section and female section).

The experimental group (A male section and a female one were 78 st^ents) received learning cycle inst^ction.

The control group consisted of 80 s^de^s (males and females) received traditional instuction.

Analysis of covariance (Two-way ANCOVA) was used to test the hypotheses ofthe study.

The resets Indicated a statistically significant post treatment difference between experimental and control groups in favor ofthe experimental group after instrction.

Resets also revealed that stDdents’ logical thinking ability accounted fora significant portion ofvariation ٦؛؛ genetics a chievement.

Analysis also revealed no significant difference between performance of females and that of males with respect to genetics achievement.

In addition to that, the results indicated that there was [٦٥ statistically significant interaction between method or strategy and sex on the achievement in genetics.

Several recoin mentations were suggested ٨؛ light of the results of the study.
