كان اهتمام حكام مصر في عصري البطالة والرومان بالتجارة الشرقية يتطلب الاهتمام بأمرين: أحدهما هو إنشاء الموانئ عل سواحل البحر الأحمر، والثاني هو الاهتمام بالطرق التي تربط البحر الأحمر بالنيل، وفيما يتعلق بالموانئ فقد أنشئت مجموعة من الموائئ عل الشاطئ المصري للبحر الأحمر، وهي من الشال إلى الجنوب على النحو التالي: - أرسينوى أو القلزم السويس ٢- ميوس هورموس قصير القديم ٣- فيلوتيراس مرسي جاسوس أو مرسى جواسيس ٤- ليوكوس ليمين limen Leukos الدناء الأبيض قصير ٥- ليخيسيا- Nechesia رأس ناكارى 3- برينيقي Berenike ويركز البحث في شقه الأول على ميناء برينيقي حيث يبدأ بدراسة نقدية للمصادر وخاصة كتاب الطواف حول البحر الإريثري، والذي يشار إليه بالاختصار PME، ثم كتاب أسترابون، الجغرافيا، وخأصة الكتاب السادس عشر والسابع عشر منه، وأخيرا بليئيوس في كتابه التاريخ الطبيعي.
ثم يتناول البحث موقع الميناء وأهميته وخطوما الملاحة مله إلى شرق أفريقيا وبلاد العرب والهند، ثم يوضع دوره في التجارة الشرقية للإمبراملورية الرومانية.
وفي الشق الثاني من هذا البحث نعرض لأهم الطرق التي تربط بين البحر الأحمر ووادي النيل، ثم نركز على طريق قفط - برينيقي مبدين سبع ملاحظات حول هذا الطريق أولها: حول أهمية الطريق، والثانية عن النظام الإداري في المنطقة، والثالثة على الرسوم والمدفوعات، والرابعة حول الحراسة، والخامسة عن العمال والسكان في المنطقة، والسادسة عن وسائل النقل والمواصلات، والسابعة عن إمدادات المباه ثم يختتم البحث بملحق خأص بالخرائط وقائمة المصادر والمراجع.

Abstract EN
During Ptolemaic and Roman periods, Egyptian rulers' interest in Eastern trade required subsequent concern in two issues: first, setting up harbours alongside the Red Sea coasts; second, paving roads that linked the Nile with the Red sea.
As for the former, many harbours were built on the Egyptian Red Sea coasts listed from the North to the South as follows: l- Arsinoi or Quilzam (=Suez), 2-Myos Hormos Ancient Qusair), 3- Philoteirs ( — Gasos Berth), 4-Leukos Limen Qusair), 5- Nechesia ( —Nakari Cape), 6- Berenike Hurras City) The first part of this paper focuses on the port of Berenike.
The paper begins with an analytical review or the sources especially periplus maris Erythraei, Plinius, Historia Naturalis and Strabo, Geography XVI- X VII.
Moreover, the study covers the relationship between Berenike's port and the eastern costs of Africa, Arabia Pennesula and India.
This part ended by elaborating the rule of Berenike's portin the eastern trade of Roman Empire.
The second part deals with the roads which link the Red Sea and the Nile Valley especially Berenike Copats road.
Seven remarks are pointed on this road which are, road's importance, region management, payments and rees, security, inhabitants and laborers, means of transportation, and water resources.
An appendix of map and references are provided.
