Abstract EN

The British mandate imposed on Iraq according to San Remo conference decision in 25 April 1920 and lasted until the admission of Iraq to the League of Nations in 3 october 1932.

During those years the foundations of modern Iraqi state were laid down, and this process required a lot of efforts to accomplish it.

The Kurds, the second ethnic community in Iraq, had their role in the process of founding the modern Iraqi state through the Kurdish ministers in Iraqi governments under British mandate.

They played a prominent role in building government foundations, participathng in putting government policies in the field of military, politics and economy … etc.

This reseach studies the role of those Kurdish ministers – through three topics.

The first one is about the biography of those ministers, their social origins, and education.

The second Topic tackled their role in building modern Iraqi army, which was one of the main fields of their efforts and activity.

The third, and last, topic spot light on Kurdish ministers role in the fields of politics economy, health, education and communication.
