Abstract EN

This research studies the theory of the evolution of the literature genres as problematicto critics and scholars, especially when it relates to their (literature genres) nature, components and importance in the light of the theory of literature and modern critical theories of Bruinter, Rene and lacquered Gerard Jeanette, Julia Christefa, and Roland Barthes in the post-structuralism stage.

The study of literary genres has recently taken a descriptive approach that are not limited or confined to a limited number; they also do not force writers to stick to or comply with certain guidelines.

There a current tendency, among writers, to mix some modern genres with other traditional ones to produce completely new ones such as tragedies and/or comedies.

Such a change is mostly attributed to a set of reasons including the deviation of literary genres from the eighteenth century traditions and concepts.

This research aims at stressing the overlap of some literary approaches/genres namely the socio-historical approach and the internal linguistics approach that help enriching the modern Arabic poem, on one hand, and supplying it with new resources, on the other hand.

The researcher finds that genre overlapping is a new literary criticism approach that has its supporters and opponents who work within a set of known literary criticism rules and regulations
