تعتبر سنوات الطفولة حجر الأساس في تكوين شخصية الفرد، و هي المرحلة التي يكتسب فيها الفرد اتجاهاته و عاداته و تعليمه و تدريبه، و فيها يكون الفرد مرنا قابلا للتعلم، فإن كل من الأسطورة و الحكاية الشعبية تلعبان دورا هاما في تكوين شخصية الطفل من عدة جوانب منها : الجانب الاجتماعي و العقلي و اللغوي و الأخلاقي، و إذا تم بناءه بصورة صحيحة و سليمة نتج عنها شخص مثالي، يستطيع مواجهة صعوبات الحياة بكل ثبات، مستعينا في ذلك بالموروث الثقافي الشعبي.
