Abstract EN

The present article exposes the concept of argumentation not only as a sheer linguistic practice whose aim is contemplation or demonstrating discoursal skills but also as a communicative strategy that is meant for influencing the others.

The means of this strategy is language; its end is persuasion and its boundaries –using the words of the Moroccan philosopher Taha Abderrahman – are illocution and perlocution.

The former has to do with the addresser’s discoursal behavior which targets a specific goal, however; the latter is related to the possibility of attaining this goal in the course of interacting with the addressee.

Cet article présente le concept d’argumentation en le considérant non seulement comme simple pratique langagière dont l’objectif est la contemplation ou la démonstration0 des compétences discursives, mais également comme stratégie communicative qui cherche à influencer autrui.

Une stratégie dont le moyen est la langue et dont l’objectif est la conviction ; Ses deux pôles sont, d’après le philosophe marocain TAHA ABDERRAHMANE, l’effet perlocutoire qui se rapporte au comportement discursif du locuteur qui cherche un but précis chez l’interlocuteur et l’effet illocutoire qui renvoie à la possibilité d’atteindre ce but sur son destinataire.
