Abstract EN

This paper aims to introduce a distinguished scholar in literature, language, rhetoric and history in the 8th centry of the Hijra .

He was a brilliant Yemeni man of letters who aspired to seek knowledge from its sources and to have a full control of it.

His cultural background is represented by the Glorious Quran and Arabic and Islamic heritage in the domains of poetry, prose and proverbs.

He was well praised by many historians and scholars for he has contributed a lot in enhancing and enriching the Arab library, besides doing some teaching in some Arab countries.

He was an illuminating landmark in the march of intellectual writings in the Middle Ages.

That is obvious from his poetic texts, administrative and literary letters, and prosaic debates which all have given him a well- deserved place among other men of letters, historians and linguists.
