Abstract EN

Potatoes is one of the important vegetable crops due to its nutritional and economical importance.

The main objective of this study is to analyze the factors that affect potatoes production in Khartoum State.

The problem of the study which faces the producers is the high input cost.

Primary data was collected via structured questionnaire.

The data was then analyzed using simple statistical analysis and the employment of Ordinary Least Squares.

The study highlighted that potatoes was rewording economically and that the use of modem machinery increase productivity, the factors that affect the potatoes production are: the educational level of the producers, the difficulty of transportation, the harvesting cost and selling price.

The study recommended that more support to the potatoes producers by providing the production inputs and facilitating the harvesting and transportation process.
