This research aims to study the repentance of poets, T.S.

Eliot and Mahmoud Hassan Ismail.

This repentance is clearly depicted in the concluding stage of their excellence.

The research is divided into an introduction and three main parts.

The introduction focuses on the definition of repentance of poets, and attempts to highlight this poetic theme of the English and Arab predecessors of T.S.

Eliot and Mahmoud Hassan Ismail.

Besides, it focuses on exploring the life elements of both poets, which had contributed to their resort to repentance.

The first part is concerned with studying the first stage, experienced by the poets on their paths for repentance, known in this study as the stage of conflict and rebel.

The second part focuses on examining the stage of repentance, known as introspection.

The third part is devoted to the third and last stage of the two poets; namely, the stage of repentance.

In this stage, the repentance of both poets is crystal clear;they were more inclined to the holy element on the one hand, and related it to the elements of time and death on the other hand.

Finally, the research highlighted some similarities shared by the poets on their path for repentance, as well as some conclusions of the study.
