Vitamin A is one of the most necessary nutrients for the completion of the cellular function of the normal embryonic development if it is taken within normal limits during pregnancy period, in both shortage or higher doses lead to distortions during fetal development.
The results of this study showed that high doses of vitamin A (5000UI / or 7500 UI) in pregnant mothers of Albino mice led to the deformation of the inner ear during fetal development.
These distortions appear in the retardation of the formation of otocyst, it was appears in the fourteenth day instead of the tenth day, Morphometric differences in the dimensions of the otocyst and the wall thickness,The absence of the vertical, posterior, and anterior semicircular canals and deformation of the saccule, utricule and cochlear structure
