Abstract EN

This study aimed at the present and future uses of the urban areas in Bardarash city under the definite increase and change which happened and will happen in the use of the land in city.

It also aimed at determining to what extent the city can reach under the developments and the increase of populations in the future.

The study rises at describing, analyzing and distributing the actual use of the land and what jobs it offers to serve the inhabitants of the city.

To achieve that, the descriptive-analytical approach was used which depends on collecting data and information trying to explain it to serve the aims of the research.

The study managed to make a group of maps explaining the present use of the land according to every functional element and its ability to occupy the local space it needs.

The research showed that the residential use came first among other uses.

This fact is almost constant in most cities over the world.

The use of the land for transportation came second in the research.

Other uses varied according to their ability to occupy the local space.

These results express the real use of the land according to the extent that suits the urban life in spite of random distribution.

The research also showed that there is a local difference between the build area and the total area of the city.

This means that what is utilized of the area in the city to any functional use is less than what is planned for.

The study concluded that a special attention must be given for the investment of the land in the city depending on the functional importance of the uses; keeping in mind that the city is now considered as one of The middle cities in the region, to increase work opportunities for its inhabitants.

The study also suggested that further research should be conducted to shed light on the developmental aspects of the city.
