Abstract EN

The relation between environment and the security of humans and nature has been the concern of much serious research in recent decades due to accelerating environmental problems.

Also the threats and signs of environmental degradation made a great shift for the security from military and political concern to environment as well as socio-economical issues.

Environmental security is a crucial issue، but it’s a focal that had been taken an extreme significant in light of the environment and resources degradation.

The identification of environmental protection is of course a security problem، although assigned to a component of human behavior and the degree of awareness.

If the security operation is weak or non-ideal، this reflected to determine the levels of environmental security and quality of application.

And therefore affects the environmental policies.

This research does not aim to describe and discuss all the features of environmental security interest، started since 1977، in the world، but it aims to identify the concept and analysis of samples from the definitions and discuss the levels and display some models.

To achieve this goal definitions concern to the concept of environmental security were discussed through the presentation of (13) definitions، taken as samples from various literature.

The results showed that، all definitions agree environmental security is the focus of success of all types and levels of other security patterns; and top of them are the national security، food، water and social development.
