Abstract EN

This research deals with the term of simile and stands on limitations for the seek of investigating the improvement of the term among rhetoric scholars up till the end of the 4th migratory century including those scholars who lived most of his life in that century and died in the 5th.

The research includes an introduction twenty four studies.

In the introduction, The researcher presented an explanation about the importance of the study, the relation between simile and the linguistic terms that relates, how it approaches to metaphor with short reference to subsequent scholars through the fields of rooting and establishing for linguistic terms in general and the term of simile in particular, then the researcher summarized Arabic language scholars’ point of views about simile up till the 4th migratory century.

For this objective, The researcher employed different scientific methods, he used the descriptive methodol ogy in explaining the semantics of the term, then he restored to historical methodology to follow scholars’ point of views from the beginning of linguistic era up till the end of 4th migratory century, and he used the deductive approach to explain the rhetorical values in the fragmentary texts to come up with the summary of this research.
