Abstract EN

The study tackled the instructions for authors in Arab journals of library and information science in the following journals: Arab Journal of Library and Information Science, Journal of Recent Trends in Libraries and Information, Research in Library and Information Science Journal of King Fahd National Library, and Journal of Research in Library and Information Science.

The study aimed at several objectives including analyzing and comparing the instructions for authors in the abovementioned journals, and examining their commitment to apply such instructions on the published academic works in journals during the five-year period between 2011-2015.

The study tried to develop a proposed model of instructions for authors in Arab journals of libraries and information science.

The study used the content analysis approach to reach its objectives.

The study concluded that there was a variation in the size and content of the instructions for authors in Arab journals of libraries and information science.

There was also obvious failure to apply such instructions on the published academic works in journals.

The study succeeded to develop a proposed model of instructions for authors in Arab journals of libraries and information science.

The study presented some recommendations such as the need to activate the role of editorial and advisory bodies responsible for journals.

Moreover, the specialized journals in libraries and information science especially the aforementioned journals should embrace the proposed model of instructions for authors developed by the study.
