The Algerian economy is one of the rentier economies that depend on hydrocarbon revenues, that’s what makes the trade balance extremely sensitive to the changes in oil prices,this also affect the economic policy in the country, because the oil revenue is the main source of funding for development projects.

The current oil price shock, despite its negative impacts, may considered as a real opportunity for Algeria to diversify the local economy, especially with the natural and human resources available, and that’s by encouraging agriculture and manufacturing, as well as tourism and renewable energies
