Abstract EN

This article dealt with the issue of combating the offence of human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation.

The study analysed legal responses on international level and examples from the national level regarding the role of the corporations in avoiding, causing, or contributing of the labour exploitation through their own activities or in their business relationships.

The main purpose was to contextualize the corporate responsibility in respecting the principles as articulated in the United Nations Protect-Respect-Remedy Framework and the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in relation to human trafficking.

It tried to develop a normative framework for corporations to implement the Guiding Principles to prevent human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation.

Nowadays there is more support for the idea that actions against anti-human trafficking must not only be based in criminal law, but must also utilize other fields of law, especially labour law and migration law, and therefore businesses can play an important role in prevention preventing this form of human trafficking.
